The Giant Swing at Hangloose Bluewater is a single adrenaline activity where you're winched 50 metres into the air above the cliffs and lakes, then released into a free fall before swinging through an arc at over 50mph. A qualified instructor runs the safety briefing and harness setup. The whole experience takes about an hour. Free lockers are included for your belongings.

The experience

You'll start with a check-in and safety briefing from a fully qualified instructor, then get strapped into the harness. The winch lifts you slowly to 50 metres, giving you time to take in the views over the Bluewater cliffs and lakes below. Then comes the release: a sudden drop into free fall before you swing through the air at speeds over 50mph in a single arc. After you land, the team unharneses you and you're done.

The whole thing runs about an hour from arrival to leaving. You'll need to be between 35kg and 120kg, at least 8 years old, and in moderate physical fitness. The activity isn't suitable if you have spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or are pregnant. Free lockers are available for phones, wallets and bags while you're on the swing. Public transport stops are nearby if you're not driving.
