Two minutes of freefall without leaving the ground

Outdoor wind tunnel skydiving in Kent is a one-on-one guided flight experience lasting two minutes inside the UK's first outdoor Skydiving Aerodium, set in a chalk quarry. You arrive 30 minutes early for check-in, watch a safety video, receive instruction on hand signals from your guide, then step into the wind tunnel for your fully supported flight. Open to ages four and up, with a weight range of 20–120 kg. Moderate fitness required.

The experience

The wind tunnel sits in a chalk quarry in Kent, and the setup is straightforward: arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time, check in at reception, and get fitted with a flight suit, helmet, ear plugs and goggles. You'll watch a short video covering what to expect and safety basics, then your instructor walks you through the hand signals you'll use during the flight so you know what to do when you're in the wind. Everything is explained on the ground before you step in.

Your flight lasts two minutes (roughly three times longer than a typical skydive freefall), and you spend it one-on-one with an experienced instructor who stays with you the whole time. You lean forward into the wind and let it lift you. The instructor guides and supports you throughout, so there's no need to have done this before. The quarry setting means you get fresh air and views around you as you fly, not a closed indoor space.

Lockers at reception are free to use for storing valuables, and you'll need a moderate level of fitness to participate. The experience suits anyone from age four upward who falls within the 20–120 kg weight range, whether you're trying something new or crossing a bucket-list moment off.

  • Use of flight suit, helmet, ear plugs and goggles.
  • free locker storage for valuables at reception.
  • one-on-one instruction throughout your two-minute flight.
