The tour runs about five to six hours total, and it moves through the West Bank with purpose. You're picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, driven across the Nile to the necropolis, and then walked through four royal tombs: King Tut's, Ramses III's, Ramses VI's, and Merenptah's. Each one tells a different story through its painted reliefs and carved corridors.

The Tomb of Ramses III still holds its color: sunken reliefs in blues and reds, scenes of foreign tributes, and in one side chamber, blind harpists painted so finely you can almost hear them.
