The Experience

You get picked up from your Hurghada hotel—or from Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Safaga or Soma Bay if you're staying there—and driven to the riding start point. A professional guide briefs you on the quad bike, helps you into the safety gear, and runs through the controls before you head out. The guide leads the group through the desert, and you spend roughly 1.5 hours riding through dunes and along the coast, taking in views of the Red Sea, mountains and hills as you go.

The route takes you to the Red Sea Cliffs, where the group stops for photos. If you book the sunset option, you'll watch the sun drop between the mountains and have a photo session on the beach before riding to spots where you can see coral formations from above. Morning and afternoon departures skip the sunset but follow the same desert and cliff route. You ride either a single quad or a double (two-seater) depending on which option you choose at checkout.

The whole outing—pickup, briefing, riding, photo stops and return—runs about three hours. A bottle of mineral water is included. The guide speaks English, French, German or Russian depending on the group. If you're staying in El Gouna or the Al Ahyaa area, transfers can be added for a small extra fee.
