The experience

You arrive at the stables and get paired with a horse suited to your riding level, whether you've ridden before or never have. The guide fits you with a helmet and walks you through the basics before you set off. The route runs through desert trails and along the coastline, where the Red Sea comes into view across the dunes. You'll trot or canter depending on the terrain (soft sand gives way to rockier ground), and the pace stays steady enough that first-time riders stay comfortable. The guide stays with you the whole time, watching your form and the horse's footing.

The one-hour option covers the main loop through the desert and back to the stables. If you book the two-hour ride, you get a swimming stop partway through, so you can cool off in the Red Sea before heading back. Either way, your transfer back to your hotel in Hurghada is included when the ride ends.
