The experience

You're met at Al Sokhna Port with a name sign when your cruise ship arrives, then driven three hours to Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle with a rest stop if you need one. The drive itself crosses the landscape between the coast and the capital, giving you a sense of the distance and terrain before you reach the city proper.

At Giza, you walk among the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, then stand in front of the Great Sphinx: the monumental statue carved during Chephren's reign. The tour also includes the Valley Temple, the mortuary complex tied to Chephren's pyramid. Your guide walks you through the site and explains what you're looking at. If you want to go inside the pyramids themselves, that's a separate ticket you can add at checkout. After the pyramids, you stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

The afternoon takes you to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Old Cairo, where 50,000 artifacts tell the story of Egyptian culture across millennia. You move through the collection with your guide, who speaks your language: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or one of six others. As evening falls, your guide escorts you back to the vehicle for the return drive to El Sokhna Port, arriving in time to board your ship.
