The Experience
You're picked up from your Cairo or Giza hotel at 7am and driven southwest to Bahariya Oasis, a four-hour journey by air-conditioned vehicle. Lunch is served upon arrival. From there, a 4x4 jeep takes you deeper into the desert to see the Black Desert's dark volcanic rock formations, the natural hot springs of Valley of El Haize, and the quartz crystal formations at Crystal Mountain. The rocky valleys of Agabat come next. By late afternoon you reach the White Desert National Park, where wind-carved rock formations shaped like giant mushrooms and pebbles rise from the sand in formations you won't see anywhere else in the world.
The camp is set up for the night with tents, mattresses and blankets provided. A BBQ dinner and soft drinks are served while a Bedouin show plays out around the fire. You sleep under the stars. Breakfast happens at the campsite the next morning, then the drive back to Cairo takes the afternoon, with arrival around 4 to 5pm. The tour includes all transport by 4x4, three meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast), bottled water, camping equipment and the guide who moves the day forward without you having to navigate or decide what comes next.
