The experience
Four days on the Nile means you reach the major sites without rushing between them. The cruise departs Aswan after hotel pickup and lunch on board, then visits Philae Temple and the High Dam the same afternoon. You sleep aboard the ship each night, so there's no packing and repacking: the temples come to you as you sail south toward Luxor. Meals are served on board throughout, from lunch on day one through breakfast on the final morning.
Each day follows the same rhythm: breakfast on deck, a guided tour to a temple or temple complex, lunch back on the ship, sailing time in the afternoon, and dinner with entertainment. Day two takes you to Kom Ombo Temple, shared by two gods and built on the riverbank. Day three covers Edfu Temple (the Temple of Horus) and then the East Bank sites (Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple) both massive complexes across from where the ship docks. The final morning you disembark and visit Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut on the West Bank before transfer to your Luxor hotel, airport or train station.
A qualified Egyptologist guide accompanies the group tours at each site, speaking English, Spanish or Arabic. The ship itself has a swimming pool and evening entertainment. Transfers from Aswan (airport, train station or hotel) and to Luxor are included. If you stay on the West Bank in either city, there's a small extra charge. Abu Simbel Temples can be added as an optional excursion on day two for an additional fee.
