The experience

The Colonial Zone is where European settlement in the Americas began in 1502, and this tour moves through it on foot, stopping at the Ozama Fort (the oldest fort built by Europeans in America), and the Columbus Palace, a viceregal residence built for Diego Colón, Christopher Columbus's son, when he arrived as governor in 1509. The Columbus Lighthouse stands as a museum and monument to the explorer. El Conde Street, once the main thoroughfare, carries the weight of that history in its layout and the buildings that line it. The guide walks you through the architecture and the stories without rushing.

Los Tres Ojos National Park is a cavern system with freshwater lakes naturally divided into three separate bodies of water visible only from inside the cave, plus a fourth lake visible from outside. The contrast between the Colonial Zone's stone streets and plazas and this underground landscape is sharp enough that the two stops feel like different worlds in a single morning. Lunch and snacks are included, so you're not hunting for a restaurant between sites.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are part of the booking, which means no negotiating transport or finding your way to the first stop. The tour runs four hours total, a length that fits a morning or an early afternoon without consuming the rest of your day.
