Chocolate making and Colonial Zone tour
- Visit holographic chocolate theater
- Explore cacao plantation
- Learn chocolate making process
- Visit Three Eyes National Park caves
The experience
The tour opens at a holographic theater where figures from the world of chocolate tell their stories, then moves into a real cacao plantation where you see and handle the plants, then follow the entire process of turning cacao into chocolate. This is not a museum display. You're standing in the working space where it happens, watching each step unfold.
From there, the route shifts to Zona Colonial itself, the first European settlement in the Americas. You'll visit some of the city's most impressive museums and photograph the neighborhoods where that history lives in the architecture and streets. A personal guide leads the way in English, Spanish, French or German, and an air-conditioned vehicle moves you between stops.
The final leg takes you to Three Eyes National Park, one of the city's most hidden spots. The park holds caves and crystal-clear ponds set into the landscape: the kind of place most visitors to Santo Domingo never find on their own. The whole day runs three to four hours, with bottled water and snacks included.
