The Experience

What happens when you book this tour? You start on an ATV. A guide meets you at the Punta Cana starting point and hands you the keys—you're riding, not watching. The route takes you inland through the Dominican countryside to a Taíno cave filled with fresh water 20 feet deep; you can swim, wade or just photograph it depending on how comfortable you are. Next comes a stop at a coffee and chocolate house where someone walks you through how both are made, then you taste them fresh, and a Dominican cigar is offered. Macao Beach is the last ATV stop—white sand, palm trees, popular with locals and surfers—and you ride there on your own machine.

Then the day flips. You trade the ATV for a double-decker catamaran and head out to the ocean. The boat carries you to a coral reef where you snorkel with tropical fish using provided equipment; the water is shallow enough that you can surface and rest whenever you need to. After snorkeling, the boat moves to the natural pool—a sandbar in water only three feet deep—where a float bar is set up for your comfort. This is where the open bar kicks in: unlimited drinks, live music, and the rest of the afternoon on the water. A guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language throughout.

The full day runs eight hours. Round-trip transportation from your hotel, villa or Airbnb is arranged; you don't coordinate pickups or timing yourself. Snorkeling equipment, fruit and snacks on the boat, and the open bar are all included.
