Waterfalls, monkeys, and scenic stops

  • Descend and swim at waterfalls
  • Interact with squirrel monkeys
  • Enjoy transport and panoramic stop

The experience

The day splits into two distinct water and wildlife experiences. At Damajagua Waterfalls, also called 27 Charcos, you descend 12 natural waterfalls in sequence, choosing your level of adventure as you go: swim in pools between drops, jump from ledges, or slide down natural chutes depending on comfort and fitness. The waterfalls form a chain through the landscape, each one a separate stop where you can move at your own pace through the water.

After the waterfalls, you travel to the monkey sanctuary to interact with squirrel monkeys in their natural habitat. The time there focuses on close, safe observation: you learn how they behave, watch them move through their environment, and spend time in their company without barriers. A panoramic stop during transport gives you time to photograph the scenery along the route between the two sites.

Your guide speaks both English and Spanish throughout the day, and transport from Amber Cove, Taino Bay or an agreed pickup point is arranged for you. The tour is designed for groups of four or more people, so you'll share the experience with others. Bring water and wear shoes with grip for the waterfall sections. The activity requires at least moderate fitness and is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns or during pregnancy.
