Scuba Diving Catalina Island: 2-Tank Dive, 2 Sites
The wall drops past 100 meters, but you only descend as deep as your certification allows.
A two-tank scuba dive off Catalina Island in the Dominican Republic with a certified instructor, taking you to El Muro (a wall dive with a 25-meter first step) and El Acuario (a shallow coral reef at 3–6 meters). The dive includes all equipment, lunch and an open bar on the beach afterward; pickup from your hotel and transport are arranged. You'll need either a PADI diving certificate or willingness to dive with an instructor if you're uncertified.
The Experience
If you have a free day and want to get underwater without organizing the logistics yourself, this is the setup: the operator picks you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, drives you to the boat, and you make two dives at sites known for coral, tropical fish and the remains of colonial shipwrecks. The first dive is El Muro, where the seafloor slopes down through an orchard of sponges and corals at an average 3 meters before dropping into a wall that descends more than 100 meters. If you hold a PADI certificate, you can descend to 25 meters on that first step; if you're uncertified, you'll stay shallower and dive with an instructor who guides you through the site.
The second dive is El Acuario, a shallow coral reef surrounding the island at 3–6 meters—the kind of dive where the water stays clear and the fish are close enough to see detail. After both dives, you head to the beach on Catalina Island itself, where there's a lunch buffet, an open bar, loungers and time to swim in the shallows before the ride back to your hotel. The whole day runs about eight hours from pickup to return.
All scuba equipment is provided, and a certified instructor is with you whether you're diving independently or need guidance. The guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on your preference.

What's the difference between El Muro and El Acuario?
El Muro is a wall dive where you descend through a shallow coral garden before the seafloor drops away steeply; certified divers can reach 25 meters on the first step. El Acuario is a shallow coral reef at 3–6 meters with colorful fish and visibility that stays good throughout the dive.
Do I need a diving certificate to book this?
You can dive without a PADI certificate if you're willing to dive with an instructor, who will guide you and keep you within safe depths. If you hold a PADI card, you can dive independently at the sites where your certification allows.
What happens after the two dives?
You spend time on Catalina Island's beach with a lunch buffet, an open bar, loungers and the option to swim in the shallow water before heading back to your hotel.
How long is the whole day?
The experience runs about eight hours from hotel pickup to return, including both dives, the beach time and the boat ride.
Is pickup from my hotel included?
Yes, pickup and air-conditioned transport to the boat are included. Note that pickups from Cap Cana or Verón carry an additional $25 charge per reservation.
