The experience
The boat leaves Tórshavn and sails to Nolsoyfjørð, where the captain reads the water and positions you at the day's most productive fishing spot. You cast for cod, haddock, mackerel and the occasional halibut. All the tackle is on board and included, rigged and ready. The crew handles the technical side. You focus on the line. Four hours gives you real time to fish, not a rushed pass through the grounds.
Nolsoy itself is a working seabird colony. On the approach and return, you'll see puffins, guillemots and gannets on the cliffs, and seals hauled out on the rocks. Dolphins and whales surface occasionally. The marine life is part of the day, not a separate tour, but what shares the water you're fishing in. Tap water, coffee and tea are on board. Bring or arrange any other provisions you want.
The trip suits anyone who can sit upright and hold a rod, from age six up. Infants travel on an adult's lap. Public transport runs near the departure point in Tórshavn, and the boat returns to the same spot, so you can plan the rest of your day around the four-hour window.
