Glass bottom viewing, reef snorkeling, a shipwreck, and a water slide in one afternoon

A 2.5-hour glass bottom boat tour from Paphos harbour combines underwater viewing through a 20-square-meter glass deck with snorkeling stops at the Vera K. shipwreck and local reefs. You descend to the glass level to watch marine life and sponges in their natural state, then suit up to swim among colorful fish and, in breeding season, sea turtles. The boat includes a Super Jumbo water slide, fresh sandwiches and fruit during the swim stop, snorkeling gear and life jackets for children, showers and changing rooms onboard, and live English-language commentary from the crew.

2h 30m

Step-by-step itinerary

Glass bottom boat trip and snorkeling

  • Depart from Paphos harbour
  • View Vera K. shipwreck through glass bottom
  • See natural bath sponge and local reefs
  • Spot marine life and possible turtles
  • Swim and snorkel in crystal clear water
  • Enjoy Super Jumbo Slide and jumping platform
  • Eat sandwiches and seasonal fruit onboard
  • Relax cruising back along Paphos coastline

The Experience

The Super Jumbo St. Raphael leaves Paphos harbour as a triple-deck boat, so you start on the upper sundeck watching the coastline before moving to the glass bottom level. That's where the 20 square meters of viewing glass lets you see the Vera K. shipwreck—sunk in the 1950s—without getting wet, and watch how natural bath sponges look before they reach a store shelf. The boat holds position over the reefs so you can observe local marine life through the glass; if the timing aligns with turtle breeding season, you may spot them moving through the water below.

When the boat reaches the swimming stop in one of Paphos's clearest spots, you get into the water with snorkeling gear (provided free, along with life jackets for kids and less confident swimmers). The reef here holds colorful fish, and the same turtles that pass overhead in season often come close enough to watch. There's time to swim, float and explore at your own pace. If you want the rush, the Super Jumbo Slide extends from the main deck—high enough to matter, designed for the splash-filled competitions the crew arranges. A fresh-water shower on the extended swimming platform rinses off salt water before you head back onboard.

Sandwiches and seasonal fruit arrive during or after the swim stop. The boat has toilets, changing rooms and showers, so you can rinse and change before the return cruise along the Paphos coastline back to the harbour. The whole outing runs 2.5 hours from departure to return.

Is this one for you?At 2.5 hours, this trip leaves room for a morning or afternoon in Paphos without consuming your whole day—the glass bottom viewing means you see the shipwreck and reefs whether you snorkel or stay dry, so it suits swimmers and non-swimmers equally, and families with young children who can't or won't enter the water.

Top questions

What's the Vera K. shipwreck like when you snorkel it?

The Vera K. sank in the 1950s and now sits on the seafloor where the boat stops. You see it first through the glass bottom deck while dry, then snorkel over it during the swimming stop to get a closer look at the wreck and the fish living around it.

Will I actually see sea turtles on this trip?

Sea turtles appear in the area during breeding season, and the crew notes when conditions favor a sighting—but they're wild animals without a schedule, so there's no guarantee. The reefs and shipwreck hold plenty of colorful fish regardless of the season.

Is snorkeling equipment included, or do I need to bring my own?

Snorkels, noodles and life jackets are provided free of charge for all passengers. Life jackets are especially available for children and swimmers less confident in the water.

How much time do you actually spend in the water snorkeling?

The boat makes several stops over the Vera K. and reefs while you view through the glass bottom, then anchors at a swimming spot where you have plenty of time to snorkel, swim and relax in the water before heading back to harbour.

What happens if I don't want to snorkel—can I just stay on the boat?

Yes. You can spend the whole trip on the glass bottom deck and the upper sundeck watching the coastline and viewing marine life through the glass without entering the water.

Are there facilities onboard to change and shower?

The boat has changing rooms, toilets and showers onboard, plus a fresh-water shower on the extended swimming platform to rinse off salt water before you change.
