The experience
The boat leaves Latchi Harbour as the largest glass-bottom vessel in the area. The same operator has run this route since 1992. The hull lets you watch the seabed and whatever moves across it without getting wet. The itinerary passes the Akamas Coastline (where dolphins and turtles sometimes appear), St George Island, the sea caves at Manolis, and an ancient quarry at Plaji Bay that rises like an amphitheater from the water.
At Blue Lagoon, the boat drops anchor for a full hour. You can swim and snorkel in the lagoon, ride the water slide, or stay aboard and watch from the glass floor while others are in the water. After swimming, complimentary wine, seasonal fruit and juice are served before the return to Latchi Harbour, where you'll find shops and restaurants if you want to extend the afternoon.
The tour runs about three hours total. An audio guide in English and Greek narrates the route. Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and the boat suits all fitness levels. Service animals are welcome. Light snacks and drinks are available for purchase from the onboard bar if you want anything beyond what's included.
