Snorkeling in Curaçao: Private Yacht to Fuik Bay
Sail to a secluded bay and snorkel without the crowds
A private snorkeling boat trip in Curaçao aboard a 48-ft sailing yacht, departing at 10 AM for a three-hour morning on the water. You cruise through Spanish Waters to Fuik Bay, anchor in the calm shallows, and snorkel among mangroves and coral while the crew serves Mediterranean tapas and drinks on deck. The yacht is reserved for your group alone, with experienced captain and crew aboard every departure, and transfers from Sandals Royal Curaçao Resort are included.
The Experience
You board the Galaxie at the marina and spend the first hour sailing through Spanish Waters toward Fuik Bay, a sheltered anchorage on the Caribbean side of the island. The 48-ft yacht is yours alone—no other groups, no schedule to sync with strangers. Once anchored in the bay's clear, shallow water, you have the choice: snorkel among the mangroves and the small natural beach, or stay on deck with a towel and watch the water from the shade. The crew keeps an eye out for sea turtles, rays, starfish and the occasional octopus moving through the shallows.
While you're in the water or resting, the crew sets out a Mediterranean-style food platter with charcuterie, fresh fruit and cheese, alongside beer, wine and soft drinks. Reef-friendly sunscreen, snorkeling gear and floaties are all provided, and towels are waiting when you climb back aboard. The return sail takes another hour, and if the wind cooperates, the crew raises the Genua sail for a smooth ride back to the harbor while you watch the Curaçao coastline pass.
The boat leaves at 10 AM and returns by 1 PM, so it fits a morning before the afternoon heat or a first day when you're still adjusting to the island. If you're staying at Sandals Royal Curaçao, the resort is next to the marina—no separate transfer needed. Transfers from other accommodations or the cruise port are available on request for a fixed rate. The crew speaks English, German and Dutch, and the captain and mate are certified and aboard for every departure.

Is this one for you?Book this if you're staying at Sandals or want a private morning without other groups—the yacht is reserved for your party alone, and the fixed three-hour window fits a first day or a half-day when you have the afternoon free. If you're traveling with young children or prefer to stay dry, the boat works just as well as a floating platform with food and shade while others snorkel.

What will I see when I snorkel in Fuik Bay?
Fuik Bay holds mangroves in the shallows, small tropical fish, starfish, rays, baby barracudas and occasionally sea turtles and octopus. The water is clear and calm, and the bay is sheltered enough that snorkeling is relaxed rather than challenging.
Is the three-hour trip the same as the time I spend in the water?
No—the three hours includes the one-hour sail out, the time anchored in the bay (where you snorkel or rest on deck), and the one-hour sail back. You'll have roughly an hour in and around the water once the yacht is anchored.
What happens if I don't want to snorkel?
You can stay on deck the whole time. The crew serves food and drinks, and you'll have shade, towels and a view of the bay and the coast. Snorkeling is an option, not a requirement.
Does the price include drinks and food?
Yes—the Mediterranean tapas platter, beer, wine, soft drinks and bottled water are all included. Reef-friendly sunscreen, towels, snorkeling gear and floaties are also part of the trip.
Can I bring children on this snorkeling trip?
Yes. Infants must sit on an adult's lap, and the trip is suitable for all fitness levels. Floaties are provided, and the water in Fuik Bay is calm and shallow. Alcoholic drinks are served only to travelers 21 and older; younger passengers receive non-alcoholic beverages.
How do I get to the marina if I'm not staying at Sandals?
Transfers from Sandals Royal Curaçao Resort are included because the marina is next to the hotel. If you're staying elsewhere or arriving by cruise ship, transfers are available on request for a fixed rate—ask when you book.
