Nearly 3 km through canyon pools, rock slides, and a natural tunnel carved by water

Canyoning on the Cetina River is a 6-hour activity from Split that takes you through a 2.8 km canyon with waterfalls up to 50 meters high, swimming, jumping, and a natural 100-meter tunnel in rock. A professional guide leads the whole day, equipment is provided, and a van with your belongings waits at the end so you can dry off before returning to Split. Pickup from Split is available as an option; without it, you meet the group at the Bus terminal Sukoišan.

The Experience

The day starts at the Bus terminal Sukoišan, where your guide meets you before a 45-minute van ride to Šestanovac village. Once there, you get fitted with a neoprene suit, life jacket, helmet and canyoning shoes (or bring your own), and the guide walks you through a safety briefing. The equipment is top-of-the-line and the guides are experienced professionals who lead every step.

A 15-minute hike brings you down to the canyon entrance. From there, the nearly 3 km trek unfolds as a mix of swimming through crystal-clear pools, hiking along the riverbed, and jumping from rocks into the water. Waterfalls cascade down the canyon walls—some up to 50 meters high—and you walk through a natural 100-meter tunnel carved straight through the rock. The guide controls the pace and stays with the group the whole time, so the day feels both exhilarating and safe.

When you finish, a van is waiting with your belongings, dry clothes and a chance to change before the ride back to Split with your instructor. The whole activity runs about 6 hours from start to finish.
