Our guide Marko stopped us halfway up the stone steps to Klis Fortress and pointed to a section of wall. "That's where they filmed the Meereen scenes," he said, then laughed a little. "Before the show, nobody came here. Now we get three hundred people a day." The palace itself is a Roman ruin from the 4th century, so the production didn't have to build much. They just lit it differently and added actors.
