The Experience
The ride starts across from the Pula Arena and moves through the old town's Roman architecture—the Twin Gates, the Arch of the Sergii (the Golden Gate), and the Temple of Augustus built between 2 BC and 14 AD. You'll pass the Church of Our Lady of the Sea and a memorial to those lost on the Baron Gautsch steamship, then leave the monuments behind for the coast.
The heart of the tour is a four-kilometer promenade between thick pine forest and the sea, connecting three beaches: Valkane, Gortan cove, and Mornar. This is where the swimming stops happen—you'll enter the water near a sea cave and have time to cool off in the crystal-clear water. The route then climbs to a canyon ridge with high cliffs and views back toward the old town, the port, and the Uljanik shipyard. This is where cliff diving happens if you want it; the brave ones jump, the others watch or swim from the beach below.
The group stays under ten riders, and the pace adjusts to the group's comfort level. You'll need basic cycling skills and confidence riding in light traffic—this is not a learn-to-ride session, and you should have a good sense of balance. The three hours include all the stops, so the day doesn't rush. A live guide speaks English, German, Croatian, or Serbian and shares local history along the way. Helmets are sanitized, bikes come in multiple sizes, and high-visibility vests and lights are available on request in advance.

What's the Pula Arena and where does the ride start?
The Pula Arena is a Roman amphitheater built in the 1st century AD and one of the best-preserved in the world. The tour starts exactly across from its main entrance, so you'll see it before you clip in and head toward the old town's other Roman monuments.
Can I jump off the cliffs or do I have to swim?
Cliff diving is optional and happens at the canyon ridge with high cliffs on the second half of the route. Swimmers who don't want to jump can enter the water from the beach below, and those who prefer to stay dry can relax in the shade and watch.
How long is the four-kilometer promenade and what's it like to ride?
The promenade runs between thick pine forest on one side and the sea on the other, connecting three beaches. It's flat and easy to ride, and this is where most of the swimming stops happen, so you'll have time to enter the water and cool off.
Do I need to be a strong cyclist to do this?
You need basic cycling skills and confidence riding in light traffic, but the tour is suitable for all fitness levels and the pace is adjustable to the group. The route involves easy to moderate physical exertion over three hours, and you should be able to handle that outdoor time and have a good sense of balance.
What bikes are available and what's included?
Quality mountain bikes in multiple sizes are included, along with a sanitized helmet, 0.5 liters of water, and tour photos and videos. E-bikes are available on request with advance reservation, and step-through frames work for regular and e-bikes if you prefer that style.
Can children come on this ride?
Children are welcome from age one, and they must be accompanied by an adult. Specialized infant seats are available, and the tour is family-friendly with an adjustable pace, so you can bring kids who are comfortable on a bike.
