The experience
The boat leaves from Zadar and heads out along the shoreline, passing the sea organ: a set of pipes built into the waterfront that makes sound from the waves themselves. From the water you get a different angle on the city's history than you'd have from land. The tour takes in Foša, a small working port; Kolovare, where a fountain sits on the promenade; and the Spinx, a statue that stands alone on this part of the coast. The skipper talks through what you're seeing and answers questions as you move.
The tour lasts around two and a half hours, but you set the pace. If you want to linger at one stop or skip another, the skipper works with that. As the sun drops toward the sea, the boat slows and you have the choice to stay on deck with a glass of wine or slip into the water for a swim while the light changes. The tour ends when the sun touches the horizon.
Fuel, the skipper's fee and bottled water are included. Diving masks come along if you plan to swim. You can bring your own food and drinks, or the skipper can point you toward a restaurant before or after.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the sea organ and why does it make sound?
The sea organ is a set of pipes built into Zadar's waterfront that produce sound as waves push through them. The sound changes with the tide and the swell, so it's never quite the same twice.
Can I swim during the sunset tour?
Yes, swimming is an option as the sun sets. Diving masks are provided if you want to go under, and the water is clear enough to see into it.
How long does the tour actually take?
The tour runs around two and a half hours, but you decide how much time you want to spend. The skipper adjusts the route and pace based on what you'd like to see and how long you can stay.
What happens if I want to eat during the tour?
You can bring your own food and drinks on the boat. If you'd rather eat at a restaurant, the skipper can recommend one and adjust the timing so you have time to stop.
Is there a guide who speaks English?
Yes, a live English-speaking skipper is with you the whole time, providing information about Zadar's history and the sights you pass.
