The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Zadar hotel or meeting point, then a drive to Krka National Park. Once inside, the park's maintained walking trails and wooden bridges let you move at your own pace through Skradinski Buk, where water cascades down a series of large falls into pools below. The boardwalks offer different angles on the waterfalls as you wander through the park. Bring a towel and swimming clothes if you want to enter the water. A short river cruise is included partway through the visit, giving you another perspective on the falls and the surrounding landscape.
After time at the waterfalls, the tour heads to a local winery where you'll taste regional wines and olive oils before the drive back to Zadar. The whole outing runs about seven hours from pickup to return. You'll need to arrive 15 minutes early at your meeting point, and the moderate amount of walking means dressing in comfortable shoes and bringing sun protection and a hat.
