- Drive 50 minutes to caves

The experience
The drive to the caves takes 50 minutes from Zadar. Once you arrive at the complex, a guide meets you and leads you down into the first cavern. Each cave is approximately 700 meters long, and you'll spend roughly 50 minutes underground in each one, moving through passages and chambers at a steady pace. The guide points out formations and explains the geology as you walk. Between the two caves, you'll walk back to the surface and then descend again into the second system.
The caves stay around 7°C year-round, so bring layered clothing and a jacket even in summer. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are essential. The ground is uneven and can be slippery. You'll need to arrive about 30 minutes before your scheduled time, and the entire experience, including transport and both caves, runs roughly 4.5 hours. Your guide speaks either English or Italian, and the tour price does not include cave entry tickets, which you purchase at the entrance for 16 euros per person.
What’s included

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How long do I actually spend underground in the Cerovac Caves?
The Cerovac Caves have two separate systems, each roughly 700 meters long. You spend approximately 50 minutes inside each one, so about 100 minutes total underground across both caverns. The rest of the 4.5-hour outing covers the drive from Zadar, walking between the cave entrances, and the time before your scheduled descent.
What is the temperature like inside the caves, and what should I wear?
The caves maintain an average temperature around 7°C throughout the year. Bring layered clothing and a warm jacket, even during summer months. Sturdy, closed-toe sports shoes are necessary because the cave floors are uneven and can be slippery.
Is the cave tour guided, or do I explore on my own?
A live guide leads you through both caves. The guide speaks either English or Italian and is included with your tour. You'll walk together through each cavern at a moderate pace, and the guide explains the cave formations and geology as you go.
What is included in the tour price, and what do I pay separately?
Private transportation from Zadar and the guided tour itself are included. Cave entry tickets are not included and cost 16 euros per person, purchased at the entrance to the caves when you arrive.
