The experience
You drive the buggy yourself, not ride along. The shortest route, one hour, takes you up into the hills above Orebić to the Franciscan Monastery of Our Lady of the Angels, built in the late 15th century at 152 meters above sea level on Mount St. Elijah. The monastery sits on a dramatic cliffside with panoramic views over the Pelješac Channel, and the itinerary includes entry to both the monastery and its museum. From there you climb to viewpoints over the water before heading back down.
The two-hour and longer routes push further into Pelješac's interior. You'll stop at Franko's Pizzeria in Kućište to taste what the operator calls Croatia's most famous pizza and grab a cold drink. On the longer routes you also get time for a swim. The four-hour Premium Safari finishes at Korta Katarina, a luxury seaside winery and Relais & Châteaux villa just across the water from Korčula, where you taste wines made from native Croatian grapes (Plavac Mali and Pošip) that have scored in the 90s from Decanter.
The tour runs with a live guide in English and keeps groups small. Children from age three are welcome. Infants can sit on an adult's lap or use a specialized infant seat. The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or poor cardiovascular health. Pickup is included, and public transportation options are available nearby if you prefer to meet the group at the starting point.
