The experience
You start from your hotel in Playa Flamingo, where pickup happens in an air-conditioned vehicle. The drive takes you to Victoria Waterfall, where the canyoning begins. The activity is built around rappelling down the waterfall face itself. You're secured on rope and descend through the cascade to the pool below, where you swim and cool off. After that comes a Tarzan swing out over the water before you climb back up the wall with your guide, using the rock face and your own strength to return to the top.
Lunch is a buffet served after the water work is done, so you eat once the physical part is behind you. The guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with the group throughout. Small groups keep the experience manageable, and the whole outing, from pickup to drop-off, runs 6 to 7 hours. Bring light clothes, water shoes (no flip-flops), extra clothes, sunblock and a camera. The operator provides bottled water and WiFi on the vehicle.
Is this one for you?Hotel pickup means you don't need a car or directions to Victoria Waterfall. The guide collects you from your accommodation in Playa Flamingo and handles the transport both ways, so the whole day works whether you're staying nearby or just passing through.
