Step-by-step itinerary
Private rainforest, waterfall, and chocolate tour

- Spot wildlife with expert guide
- Visit Llanos del Cortés waterfall
- Swim and relax at waterfall beach
- Tour Tree Chocolate Farm
- Participate in chocolate making process
- Taste high quality organic chocolate
The experience
The tour starts at the Tree Chocolate Farm, where you harvest cacao fruit, dry and grind the beans, and make the traditional ancestral chocolate drink from scratch. You taste high-quality organic chocolate at the end. From there, the guide takes you to Llanos de Cortés waterfall, where the water cascades into a pool deep enough to swim in. There's also a sandy beach if you prefer to stay dry and watch. The final stop is a private rainforest reserve where the guide points out sloths, poison dart frogs, toucans, monkeys, and reptiles moving through the canopy. The kind of spotting that takes a trained eye.
Your guide is a local naturalist who speaks English or Spanish and knows where to look for wildlife others miss. The tour is fully private, so the pace and timing flex around what interests you most. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, along with lunch and bottled water. The whole experience runs between five and seven hours depending on how long you spend at each stop.
