Includes app access for 7 days.★ 5.00 (30)1dUS$ 59View › Raquel was already waving when we got out of the car—camera slung over her shoulder, big smile, not at all intimidating (which I’d worried about). The sand was still cool underfoot; you know that early morning hush before the beach fills up? She had us laughing within minutes, even though I felt awkward at first. “Don’t worry,” she said, “just walk like you’re heading for ice cream.” So we did. I think I blinked too much but she caught something real anyway.
I’d never done a photo session before—definitely not one in Costa Rica, and definitely not with someone as patient as Raquel. She showed us how to stand without making it weird, but also snapped those moments when we forgot about the camera. There was this salty breeze and the light kept shifting—she seemed to chase it on instinct. Once, I tried to say “pura vida” properly and she laughed so hard I almost lost my balance. We talked about her favorite spots around Tamarindo and how she’s worked with families and couples from everywhere.
The hour went by faster than I expected. At some point a dog wandered into the frame (Raquel just rolled with it), and later she promised we’d get an online gallery soon—pick only the photos we liked best. No pressure, no fuss. Honestly, I still think about that feeling of being seen just as we were, not posed or perfect but happy together on a quiet stretch of sand.
