A two-hour private horseback ride through Flamingo, Brasilito and Conchal Beach with a local guide, horse and all equipment included. Snorkeling in Conchal Bay is optional, so you decide whether to add water time after the ride.

The experience

Two hours on horseback takes you through three connected beaches along Guanacaste's northwest coast. The route follows the sand and passes elevated viewpoints where the landscape opens up. A local guide leads the ride and points out wildlife: monkeys, iguanas and birds are common sightings. The horse and all riding equipment come with the booking, so you show up ready to mount and go.

Conchal Bay sits at the end of the ride. If you want to snorkel, the guide can arrange it there. If you'd rather stay dry, you skip it and head back. Either way, the ride itself is the main event. The pace is set by the group and the terrain, and the viewpoints are what make this stretch of coast worth the saddle time.

Bring a hat, sunscreen, closed shoes and sunglasses. The sun reflects hard off the sand and water. A camera is worth carrying if you want to catch the wildlife. The guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on who is assigned to your booking.
