The experience
The day starts before dawn with pickup in Cali and breakfast in Loboguerrero town on the way. At Zaragoza bridge, you board the Brujitas: a wooden platform that slides along the tracks of an old train, powered by a motorcycle driver. This is the only way into the reserve, and it sets the tone for what follows: a route designed around the landscape itself, not around a bus schedule.
Once inside, the tour splits between walking and water. An ecological walk leads to the Well of Love and waterfalls. You then move through natural pools including El Sabalo and Charco Oscuro, where tubing happens in stages with breaks for lunch. The operator, a family native to the reserve, serves traditional Pacific drinks throughout the day and can explain the landscape as you move through it. Tubing is optional after lunch if you want to rest instead. The tour visits more than seven rivers in total, each one a stop rather than a blur.
The return follows the same Brujitas route out of the reserve by 4 pm, then the drive back to Cali takes roughly two to three hours depending on traffic, landing you home by 6:30 or 7:30 pm. Medical insurance is included, and the entrance fee to the nature reserve is built into the price.
