Private San Andrés Bay Tour: 7 Colors snorkel and floating mat
A full day across multiple stops: mangroves, shipwreck, snorkel sites, and anchored time on the floating mat
A private pontoon tour of San Andrés Bay lasting six and a half hours, with a live guide in English or Spanish, that moves through mangrove channels, past the Nicodemus shipwreck, and stops at three snorkel zones and two floating-bar anchorages. The tour includes snorkeling masks, water, cava and beer. Lunch is not included but can be brought or bought at Haynes Cay. Groups range from one to sixteen passengers depending on the charter option chosen.
Step-by-step itinerary
Explore San Andrés Bay by private pontoon
- Walk through the Mangroves
- Stop at The Stick (Tiki Bar) beach
- Boat sighting at Rocky Cay
- Snorkel and rest at Aquarium (Haynes Cay)
- Visit Rose Cay for photos and snorkeling
- Snorkel at Sea World area
- Relax at White Wata floating bars
The Experience
The day starts in the Mangrove Old Point Regional Park on the eastern side of the island, where you walk through channels lined with mussels, crabs, iguanas and endemic birds before boarding the pontoon. From there the boat moves to Palito, known locally as "the Stick", a white sand beach where you first get time on the Water Mat, a floating platform that anchors offshore. The Tiki Bar floats here too, and you can swim or snorkel from the mat itself.
Next comes the Nicodemus, a Greek freighter that ran aground decades ago and now sits as a landmark near Rocky Cay, its hull a home to reef fish and a visual anchor for the bay. The boat then heads to Haynes Cay, a small islet ringed by coral sand and stone where the water shifts through shades of blue. This is the longest stop: you snorkel in a living aquarium of colorful fish, rest on the sand, or swim. Lunch is not provided, but you can bring your own or buy food on the cay. Rose Cay, the neighboring islet, is next: a place where white sand banks let you wade in knee-deep water and photograph the shallows, and snorkel again if you want.
The afternoon moves to Sea World, a deeper snorkel site where the boat anchors and you can enter the water or stay aboard. The final stop is White Wata, an anchorage in crystal-clear water where the floating bars gather at day's end. You can swim, visit the bars, or remain on the boat as the afternoon closes. Throughout the tour, the pontoon carries water, cava with ice, beer, and snorkeling masks. The operator occasionally captures drone photos or video. You choose your charter size at checkout (groups range from one to sixteen passengers), and the guide speaks English or Spanish.

Is this one for you?Book the larger charter if your group fills it: the pontoon's spacious layout and the floating mat are designed for groups to spread out and move freely. The six-and-a-half-hour pace is relaxed, with long anchored time at each stop, so it suits anyone who wants to swim and snorkel without rushing between sites.

What is the Nicodemus and why does the tour stop there?
The Nicodemus is a Greek freighter that ran aground in the Caribbean decades ago. Its wreck now sits near Rocky Cay as a cultural landmark and marine habitat, and the boat passes it as a visual landmark during the tour.
Can I snorkel at every stop, or only at certain ones?
Snorkeling happens at three dedicated stops (Haynes Cay, Rose Cay, and Sea World), where the water and marine life are best for it. At Palito and White Wata, you can swim and use the floating mat, and snorkeling is optional at Sea World if you prefer to stay on the boat.
What is the Water Mat and how much time do I spend on it?
The Water Mat is a floating platform anchored offshore where you can lounge, play, and swim without leaving the water. You access it at two stops (Palito and White Wata), and the time there is part of the overall six and a half hour tour.
Is lunch included, and where do I eat?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. At Haynes Cay, the longest stop, you can bring your own food or buy meals on the island. You can also bring snacks and additional drinks aboard the pontoon at any time.
Do I need to bring my own snorkel gear?
Snorkeling masks are provided. Snorkels are not included due to health regulations, so bring your own if you have one, or ask the guide about options when you arrive.
How many people can book this tour together?
The tour operates as a private charter with group sizes ranging from one to sixteen passengers, depending on which charter option you select at checkout.
