The experience
Your day starts in Apia, where you'll take in views across the Western Andes before a quick stop for locally brewed mountain coffee. From there, an air-conditioned vehicle carries you up the lush mountainside to the launch site at 1,880 meters. The drive itself frames what you're about to see: the valley floor far below holds the town of Viterbo, and in the distance you can make out Sanctuario and the peak of Cerro de Tatamá at 4,100 meters. This is the geography you'll be flying over.
At the launch site, you'll meet your professional paragliding pilot, who will be attached to you throughout the flight. After a safety briefing and quick preparation, you'll launch together. Flight time runs between 15 and 25 minutes depending on wind direction and speed: factors your pilot reads in real time. You're not steering. You're experiencing the view from altitude while the pilot manages the wing and the landing. The whole experience, from arrival in Apia to your return, takes about six hours.
Your pilot captures photos and a short video during the flight, and both are included in the price. You'll have those images to keep as a record of what the landscape looks like from the air.
