Coffee Cultural Landscape paratrike flight: Pilot-guided tour
Maneuver through clouds above coffee plantations and mountain ranges in a powered paratrike
A paratrike flight over Pereira's Coffee Cultural Landscape pairs you with a pilot in a two-seater aircraft for an hour of aerial maneuvering over the Quindío mountains. The pilot handles the controls while you navigate the route together, spotting birds, capybaras and lakes below. Live guides speak English and Spanish. Children from age 6 are welcome. Helmet, intercom and video recording with an Insta360 camera are included.

The experience
The paratrike is a powered aircraft that climbs higher and covers more ground than a traditional paraglider, and its engine gives the pilot the freedom to play in the air: banking toward cloud formations, circling back over a ridge, holding altitude wherever the view pulls you. You'll strap in, get a safety briefing on the ground, and then take off from the track into the Quindío ranges. The intercom keeps you connected to the pilot's voice the whole flight, so you can ask to climb, descend or hold course over a particular stretch of landscape.
Below, the terrain shifts between coffee plantations, forested slopes and water. The flight path is built around what you want to see. The pilot adjusts for weather and your interest. Birds are common sightings, and on clear runs you'll spot capybaras moving through their habitat near the lakes. An Insta360 camera mounted on the aircraft captures the flight, and you'll get the footage afterward.
The whole experience (ground paperwork, safety gear, the flight itself) takes about an hour. Medical assistance is on site, and the track is wheelchair accessible, though the flight itself requires you to be able to sit upright and move into the aircraft seat.
