The experience

Four hours is enough to move through Suzhou's main draws without rushing. Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel or the railway station at a time you set, then spend a few minutes understanding what you actually want to see. The sample itinerary includes one of the UNESCO classical gardens (Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden or Master of Nets Garden depending on what appeals to you), where you'll walk the ancient grounds while your guide explains the history and design. From there, the route typically moves to Pingjiang Road, the stone-paved alley in the old town where you can browse local handicrafts and arts, or opt for a gondola ride along the waterways if you have the time and interest.

Tiger Hill sits on Huqiu Mountain and holds the famous leaning pagoda of Asia. Whether you reach it depends on how much of your four hours you've already spent and what else caught your attention. The same flexibility applies to other sites your guide can work in (Panmen Gate, the Silk Museum, Beisi Pagoda, Hanshan Temple) if time permits and you want to see them. Nothing is locked in.
