The Experience

Four hours is enough to move through the vineyard without rushing. The tour starts with hotel pickup in Santiago and the drive to Casablanca Valley, 70 kilometers west and 30 kilometers from the port city of Valparaíso. Casas del Bosque sits on 235 hectares dedicated to cold-climate varieties—the kind that thrive in the cooler air near the coast, producing wines with sharper acidity and more delicate fruit than warmer regions grow. A local guide walks you through the grounds, past the ancient pine and olive forests and white adobe houses that gave the vineyard its name, and explains the history and production methods the Cuneo family brought from Italy when they founded the estate in 1993.

The tasting is the core of the afternoon. You'll sample Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Syrah all produced on the estate's own vineyards, plus Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere that come from carefully managed vineyards in Maipo, Colchagua and Cachapoal valleys. The guide explains what makes each one distinct—how the cold climate shapes the flavor, what the winemaking process does to the final bottle. This is not a rushed tasting line; the guide is there to answer questions and the pace lets you actually taste the differences between the wines.

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Santiago are included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. The guide speaks English or Spanish depending on the group. Minimum age is 18 to participate in the tastings. Afternoon and morning departures both run, so you can choose the time that fits your schedule.
