The experience
Can you actually learn windsurfing in a single session? Yes, if you start on the beach. Your lesson begins at the school with a simulator that shows you how the board and sail react before you ever touch water. The instructor walks you through the equipment, shows you the correct sailing position, and demonstrates how to get going, stop and turn. That foundation matters: it means when you wade in, you already know what to expect.
Once in the water, you practice getting into position and moving the board. The goal of your first 90 minutes is not to master the sport. It's to feel what it's like to actually sail. Most people manage their first turns toward the wind (called a tack) by the end of the session. Private instruction means you have the equipment to yourself and the instructor's full attention, so the pace stays matched to what you're learning, not to a group schedule.
As you book more lessons, you'll learn to go upwind and downwind, execute turns away from the wind (a gybe), and build toward independence so you can eventually rent equipment and practice on your own. The instructors here are experienced. They know how to break down a skill that looks impossible from the beach into steps that actually work.

No. All windsurfing equipment, including wetsuit, is provided for your lesson. You just need to bring yourself and be ready to get wet.
How long does a windsurfing lesson actually take?
Your lesson runs 90 minutes total: roughly 15–20 minutes on the beach with the simulator and instruction, then the rest in the water practicing what you've learned.
Will I actually be able to sail by the end of my first lesson?
Yes. By the end of 90 minutes, most people can get up on the board, move it across the water, and execute their first turns. You won't be independent yet, but you'll have felt what windsurfing actually is.
