Wooden bridges and mini ziplines in the trees, built for kids to move through on their own

Discovery Kids Course at Treetop Trekking Stouffville is an aerial activity for children ages 5 to 8 where kids navigate wooden bridges, tightropes, net walkways and mini ziplines suspended 3 to 5 feet off the ground in the trees. Each child wears a connection system that lets them move independently through the course while building strength and balance. The activity runs 90 minutes and adults can watch at no cost.

The experience

Kids clip into a safety harness and work through a series of obstacles suspended low in the trees: wooden bridges, tightropes, net walkways and short ziplines. The connection system stays attached to an overhead cable, so children can navigate each section on their own without a guide holding their hand. The course is designed to test balance, build upper-body strength and let kids push themselves at their own pace. No experience needed. The obstacles start simple and get harder as the course goes on.

The activity takes 90 minutes total. Kids need to be at least 45 inches tall (measured with shoes on), weigh under 250 pounds, and be old enough to follow safety instructions: minimum age is 5. Closed-toe shoes are required. Sandals and Crocs are not allowed. Adults don't participate but can watch the whole time at no extra charge, so parents see exactly what their kids accomplish. A liability waiver gets signed before the course starts.

What’s included
