The Experience
Gear up at Panorama Mountain Resort before you head out. The operator supplies wetsuits, river booties, splash jackets, life jackets, and helmets—everything you need to stay warm and safe. After a quick safety briefing (the fun kind, not the stern kind), a bus ride takes you up Toby Creek Road to the put-in point where the water starts.
Then you're on the water. Eight kilometers of Class I–III rapids means splashes, paddling, and the kind of laughs that come from working together through the twists and turns. The scenery is Rocky Mountain all the way—steep banks, forest, and if you're lucky, bears or deer on the shore. The rapids are beginner-friendly, so first-time rafters move through them without drama, and the guide keeps the pace steady enough that families with kids from age 8 stay comfortable.
The trip ends back where it started, at Panorama Mountain Resort. You'll have photos from the photographer who rode along, and the chance to relive the run with your guide and crew before you head out. The whole thing takes about two hours from start to finish.
