The Experience
The tour picks you up at your Osoyoos or Oliver hotel and drives you straight into the wine trail. Four stops, each a different vineyard with its own story and approach to winemaking. At Burrowing Owl Estate Winery, you'll taste 4–5 wines while learning how the operation balances cutting-edge technology with protecting the antelope brush ecosystem around Osoyoos Lake—the team relocates snakes, builds bluebird boxes, and preserves meadowlark nests as part of their daily work. The winery sits at the northern tip of the lake, and the desert landscape frames the tasting room.
Bartier Bros. is a family operation started when Michael Bartier's brother planted grapes on their wife's family property in Summerland; Michael has worked in the cellar ever since and now guides tastings surrounded by mountain views. You'll taste five wines of your choice and hear what makes the winery distinct. Nostalgia Wines, a female-owned operation rebranded in 2021 and named the third best small winery in Canada by WineAlign in 2024, offers three tiers of wines—the playful Pin-Up Series, the classic Nostalgia Series, and the exclusive Family Collection—all from their 14.5 acres. The final stop is Rust Wine Company, which sources from five vineyards across the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys. Their home vineyard, South Rock, dates back to 1963 and produces some of British Columbia's only Zinfandel; the property includes a heritage house with a living desert roof and sits at the southern tip of the Golden Mile Bench.
Your guide handles the route and timing, and the price covers all tasting fees upfront—no surprises at the bar. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and bottled water is provided throughout. Pickup and drop-off happen at your accommodation in either town, so the morning and afternoon logistics are settled before you arrive. If you want to buy a bottle at any of the four stops, that's your choice at checkout.
