You drive the snowmobile yourself across frozen lakes and through backcountry terrain.

A guided snowmobile tour in Ontario's Canadian wilderness where you operate your own machine across frozen lakes, mountain trails and backcountry, with a guide who adjusts the route to match your riding level. The tour runs three hours and includes snowmobile rental, helmets, fuel, guiding services and a trailside lunch. Children from age 12 are welcome, and if snow conditions are unsafe, the operator switches to ATVs or Side by Sides instead.

The experience

You arrive and get fitted with a helmet, then mount your own snowmobile for a three-hour ride through Ontario's winter landscape. The guide leads the group across frozen lakes, over mountain terrain and down backcountry trails: the exact route shifts based on how comfortable you are on the machine, so a first-time rider and an experienced one can both book the same tour and get a day that fits their pace. Fuel and the machine itself are included, so you show up and ride.

Midway through, the group stops at a trailside lunch spot to eat and rest. The guide knows the area deeply and picks the trails that work for your group's skill level, which means you spend the day actually riding instead of waiting or watching. If snow conditions drop below safe levels when you arrive, the operator switches the entire tour to ATVs or Side by Sides so the ride still happens.

Snowmobile suits are available to rent separately if you don't have winter gear heavy enough for hours in the cold. The guide speaks English and leads the whole experience, so you don't navigate or make route decisions. You just ride and follow.
