Diving The Grotto, Bruce Peninsula: Tobermory & Flowerpot Island
The Grotto's interior patterns took centuries to form, and you see them from inside the cave itself.
Dive The Grotto, a natural sea cave on Ontario's Bruce Peninsula, with round-trip transport from Toronto and a guide in English or Spanish. The day starts with a 3-hour-20-minute drive north, gives you time in the cave's crystal-clear water, then offers a choice: return to Tobermory or add a cruise to Flowerpot Island to see shipwrecks and rock formations before heading back to the city. Bottled water and park entry are included.

The experience
The route starts at York Mills Subway Station or Mississauga's Ultramar Gas Station before 7:45 am, then heads north to the Bruce Peninsula. The drive takes roughly 3 hours and 20 minutes depending on traffic. You arrive at The Grotto around 11 am with time to enter the sea cave, swim in its waters, and explore the rock formations that line its interior. At 2:15 pm the group gathers for the return journey to Tobermory.
Once in Tobermory, you choose your next move. The base option drops you in town at 2:30 pm to explore on your own. The harbor, shops, and seafood restaurants are there, and you have time before the 4:45 pm departure back to Toronto. If you booked the Flowerpot Island add-on, you board the Blue Heron Cruise instead and sail out to see the towering rock formations, pristine beaches, and submerged shipwrecks in the bay. The cruise runs before the 4:45 pm departure, so both options fit the same day.
The full day ends around 9 pm at your original pickup point. An air-conditioned vehicle handles the drive both ways, and bottled water is provided. The guide speaks English or Spanish throughout. Note that the itinerary does not include breakfast or lunch, and equipment rental is separate if you need it.
