The experience
The class starts with a walk through a local market where you handpick fresh ingredients from vendors, then move to your instructor's home for hands-on cooking. You'll learn to make crispy spring rolls as a starter, steamed fish Amok as the main course, and Num Ple, a sweet dessert often compared to Cambodian mochi. Your local guide shares practical tips and family cooking secrets as you work through each dish, and vegetarian versions of all three are available using the same techniques.
Once you've finished cooking, you sit down to eat the three-course meal you just made in a relaxed, welcoming setting. The whole experience runs between one and four hours depending on the pace and how much time you spend at the market. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport yourself.
