The experience
You arrive in Siem Reap with limited time, and two days is enough to see the temples that matter and still reach the water. This tour handles the logistics: the guide organizes your Angkor Park tickets on day one, the driver picks you up from your hotel, and the itinerary moves through the sites without backtracking. Day one covers Angkor Thom first (the walled city with Bayon temple and its stone faces), then Baphuon, the Terrace of the Leper King, and Ta Prohm, where massive tree roots grip the temple walls. After lunch you reach Angkor Wat itself, then climb Phnom Bakheng at the end of the day, though the summit fills up and you'll wait with other visitors.
Day two starts at 5:00am or earlier. The driver collects you from your hotel and you drive straight to Angkor Wat to watch the sun rise over the main temple. After sunrise you return for breakfast (included in your hotel rate if you have it), then head out again to Prep Rup temple, Banteay Samre, and Banteay Srei: the "pink ladies" temple, named for the color of its stone. The long drive to Banteay Srei is worth it. The temple sits far from the main complex and sees fewer crowds. After lunch you shift from temples to water: a motorized boat takes you through Kompong Pluk on the edges of Tonle Sap Lake, where you cruise past stilt houses and stop at a floating pagoda and café.
The tour runs on a fixed schedule across two days, so the sites fit without rushing. Your driver and guide are experienced and qualified. The operator avoids outsourcing to restaurants or services that don't match their standard. The air-conditioned vehicle carries cold towels and bottled water. You choose your transport at checkout (a coach, a minibus or a luxury car, all private), and the price covers that vehicle for both days.

Top questions
What happens on the first day of the Angkor Wat tour?
Day one covers six temples within the Angkor complex: Angkor Thom with Bayon temple, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Leper King, Ta Prohm with its ancient strangler trees, Angkor Wat itself, and ends at Phnom Bakheng at sunset. The guide organizes your park tickets when you start.
Do I need to wake up early on day two?
Yes, the driver picks you up at 5:00am or earlier to reach Angkor Wat for sunrise. After watching the sun rise you return to your hotel for breakfast, then continue to the other temples and the boat cruise in the afternoon.
What is Banteay Srei and why does the tour drive so far to see it?
Banteay Srei is a temple known for its pink-colored stone and intricate carvings, located a long drive from the main Angkor complex. The distance means fewer visitors, and the temple's detail and color make it distinct from the larger sites.
What happens on the Tonle Sap part of the tour?
After lunch on day two, you board a motorized boat and cruise through Kompong Pluk, a floating village area on Tonle Sap Lake. You pass stilt houses, stop at a pagoda on an island, and visit a floating café.
What is included and what do I need to pay for separately?
The tour includes hotel pickup and dropoff, private transport for both days, the motorized boat, cold towels and bottled water. Temple passes for the 2-day Angkor Park entry are not included and must be purchased. Meals other than breakfast are not included, nor are gratuities.
Can I choose what kind of vehicle I travel in?
Yes, you select your transport at checkout: a private coach, a private minibus, or a private luxury car. The same vehicle carries you for both days.
