A 2-day guided tour of Angkor temples from Siem Reap with English-speaking guide, hotel pickup and air-conditioned vehicle. Day one covers six major temples including Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm. Day two starts before sunrise at Angkor Wat, then moves through Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, Pre Rup and Banteay Srey. The guide adjusts the pace to your preference and can add stops along the way. The experience

The first day begins at 7:30am from your hotel, when the guide and driver collect you and head to the ticket gate. Once inside Angkor Park, you move through six temples in sequence: Angkor Wat itself (the largest religious monument in the world, built over 37 years), where the guide explains the stone carvings and history; then Angkor Thom, the walled city built by King Jayavarman VII, which holds Bayon temple at its center with its famous stone faces, plus Baphuon, the royal palace grounds and Phimeanakas; then Ta Prohm, the temple overgrown with tree roots from the Tomb Raider film; and finally Banteay Kdei, built by the king for his teacher. The day ends back at your hotel. In the evening, the operator offers a free ride to a buffet dinner with a live Cambodian Apsara dance performance (your meal cost is separate).

Day two starts in darkness (4:30am or 5:00am from your hotel), so you reach the west gate of Angkor Wat before sunrise. After watching the light break over the temple, you have breakfast nearby (at your own cost), then continue to Preah Khan, the temple King Jayavarman VII built to honor his father. From there the route moves through Neak Pean, a temple built in the middle of a reservoir; Ta Som; Pre Rup; and closes at Banteay Srey, the only red and pink-colored temple in Cambodia. If time allows and you want to stop at shops or visit additional temples on the way back, the guide can arrange it.

The guide speaks English and can arrange tours in Spanish, Italian, French or German (those languages carry an extra charge of $170 paid directly to the company). The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the operator provides cool water and towels throughout both days. You set the pace (there is no rushing or pushing), and the itinerary can be adjusted to match what you want to see. The Angkor Pass is not included and you buy it at the gate. Airport pickup is available on request.
