The experience
You arrive in Fernando de Noronha and have a full day ahead. Paulo picks you up from your hotel and drives you in a buggy to the island's corners on your schedule, not a group's. The route moves through eleven distinct stops: Baia dos Porcos, elected the most beautiful beach in the world seven times by review sites; Morro Dois Irmãos, the postcard rock that defines the island's skyline; a small chapel with views of the secondary islands; Praia do Leão, the main breeding beach for sea turtles; and seven others ranging from calm, isolated stretches to beaches with full infrastructure. Each stop is a choice. You spend as long as you want, and Paulo adjusts the day to what interests you.
The buggy is your transport across the island, and a cooler travels with you. At one point (sea conditions allowing), you stop for free diving (no gear required, just you and the water), and Paulo captures underwater photos and video if the conditions hold. The tour runs eight to nine hours, which means you see the breadth of the island without the pace of a group moving through on a schedule. Because it is private, the rhythm is yours.
Paulo was born on Fernando de Noronha and lives there. He knows the island's history, the wildlife, the tides and the stories that make each beach different. That knowledge is what separates this from driving yourself: you get context, safety and the eye of someone who chose to stay. The tour ends when you return to your hotel.

Top questions
What are the beaches actually like on Fernando de Noronha?
The island has eleven stops on this tour, each with a different character. Baia dos Porcos has been voted the world's most beautiful beach seven times by review sites. Praia do Leão is the main sea turtle breeding beach. Morro Dois Irmãos is the iconic rock formation that appears on postcards. Others range from busy beaches with full amenities to isolated, quiet stretches for those who want calm water and fewer people.
Is snorkeling included, or do I need to bring my own gear?
Snorkeling equipment is not included in this tour. The tour does include one free diving stop (depending on sea conditions), where you enter the water without gear. Underwater photos and videos are captured during that stop if conditions allow.
How does pickup work if I'm staying in a hotel on the island?
Hotel pickup is included. Paulo collects you from your accommodation at a time you agree on before the tour, then returns you at the end of the day. This works whether you are staying in the main town or elsewhere on Fernando de Noronha.
What do I need to pay separately beyond the tour price?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. Entry to Fernando de Noronha Marine National Park is a separate fee that you pay at the gate. Snorkeling equipment, if you want it, is also separate.
Can I choose which beaches to visit, or is the route fixed?
Because this is a private tour, you and Paulo work out the route together. He knows all eleven stops and can adjust the day based on what interests you, the sea conditions and how much time you want to spend at each place. The pace is yours, not a group schedule.
What happens if the sea conditions are rough?
The free diving stop and underwater photos depend on sea conditions. If the water is too rough, Paulo will skip that stop and spend the time at other beaches or sites instead. He makes the call based on safety and what is actually possible that day.
