The experience

The route leaves Maceió heading north along the coast, passing through Jacarecica, Guaxuma, Garça Torta, Riacho Doce and Ipioca before reaching Paripueira. It's a 30 km journey in roughly 50 minutes. Your guide is accredited by MTUR (Brazil's tourism registry) and travels with you in an air-conditioned vehicle, so the drive itself is part of the experience. You see the coastal villages and the landscape change as you move north rather than just arriving.

Mar & Cia Beach Bar is built around a full beach day: there's a lounge area with shade, a kids' space with a sand playground, live music and folklore shows, and a kitchen focused on regional seafood. Fish, dried meat, snacks and other dishes from Northeast Brazil. Small craft shops and beachwear stalls are on site. You can order drinks (coconut water is mentioned) and food throughout the day. Day use entry starts at R$ 35 per person and is paid when you arrive. The tour price covers only transport and the guide.

If you want to go further, optional boat and jeep rides to nearby natural pools can be arranged and paid for on site. The bar is wheelchair accessible, and all surfaces are flat, so families with strollers and people with mobility needs can move around freely.
