The experience
The experience starts at Clube São Conrado de Voo Livre, where you register and receive a safety briefing covering all instructions for the flight. From there, the team leads you up to the Bonita rock ramp inside Tijuca National Park. The ramp is your launch point. A fixed location that lets the instructor read the wind and thermals before takeoff. You'll be harnessed to an internationally certified instructor who handles the equipment and the flight. Your job is to follow the pre-flight instructions and enjoy the view.
Once airborne, you fly tandem over Pedra Bonita and Pedra da Gávea, two of Rio's most recognizable peaks, then drift across the Tijuca Forest canopy and out toward the Atlantic. The flight ends with a landing on São Conrado beach, where the sand gives you a soft touchdown. The whole experience, from registration to landing, takes about two hours. A full GoPro video of your flight is included, so you have a record of what you saw from the air.
The team uses new equipment with all safety checks current. Children from age 14 are welcome. Maximum passenger weight is 110 kg (242 lbs). Public transportation options are available near the club if you're traveling without a car.
