Paragliding in Rio de Janeiro: tandem flight with hotel pickup
Fly tandem over Rio de Janeiro with an instructor who handles the landing
Tandem paragliding in Rio de Janeiro pairs you with an experienced instructor for a flight over the city, starting with hotel pickup and a brief training session at Pedra Bonita. The experience runs about 2.5 hours total, includes private transportation, all insurance and equipment (helmet, flight belt, GoPro camera), and ends with digital video and photos of your flight. A guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese or French.
The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Rio's south zone. You'll arrive at the paragliding club in São Conrado in under 30 minutes, handle paperwork for your Pedra Bonita flight authorization in about 10 minutes, then drive up the mountain—another 15 minutes—where your instructor runs through a brief training session before you take off together. The tandem setup means you're harnessed to someone who has done this hundreds of times; your job is to show up and follow the pre-flight steps.
Once airborne, you're seeing Rio from a vantage point most visitors never reach. The flight itself is the core of the experience—no rushing through a checklist of stops, no guide narration competing with the view. Your GoPro camera records the whole thing, and you'll get the digital video and photos afterward. The landing is handled by your instructor; you just stay in position.
The whole outing—pickup, paperwork, training, flight, and return to your hotel—takes about 2.5 hours. Private transportation is included, as are the flight belt, helmet, and all insurance fees. If you have questions before booking, the operator responds via WhatsApp.

Is this one for you?Book this if you want the flight itself to be the focus rather than a guided tour with multiple stops—you're in the air with an instructor, not watching from the ground or listening to narration. The 2.5-hour window works for a morning or afternoon slot without eating your whole day.
