The experience

You ride in a 4x4 van to the launch ramp, where your instructor fits you into the tandem harness and walks through the takeoff. The paraglider itself is built for two: you sit in front, the pilot behind and slightly above, controlling the wing. Once airborne, the flight lasts between 10 and 15 minutes: long enough to see the coastline and the city spread below, short enough that first-time flyers stay comfortable. The instructor handles all the flying. Your job is to enjoy the view and trust the equipment.

O.V.N.I. has been flying tandem passengers for more than three decades and holds certification from the CBVL, Brazil's free flight governing body. Guides speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek. The whole outing (van ride, gear, flight and return) takes about 90 minutes from start to finish.
