The experience
The boat leaves Tambaú Beach between Hotel Imperial and Hotel Tambaú, in front of Bob's Cafeteria, and carries you 1.5 km out to the natural pools of Picãozinho. The water stays warm and clear enough to see several species of fish, corals and algae without gear: snorkeling happens in the pools themselves. The ship is built around the pirate theme: two water slides let you drop back into the water, a springboard gives you another entry point, and a gazebo on deck works for photos between swims.
The tour runs about 3 hours total. A live guide speaks English or Spanish throughout. The vessel is wheelchair accessible, and all deck areas and surfaces accommodate wheelchairs. Infants can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap. If you want underwater photos taken, you can add that at checkout.

Is this one for you?The boat ride out and back takes about an hour of the 3 hours total, so most of your time is in or around the water. If you want a full afternoon in the pools with slides and photos rather than a quick dip, this pace suits that plan.
