Seven hours crossing deserted beaches, lagoons and the cave that only appears at low tide

The Experience
The tour departs from your hotel in a 4x4, heading south through Rio Grande do Norte's coast. The first stop is Barreira do Inferno Launch Center, a Brazilian Air Force base founded in 1965 as South America's first rocket launch site. From there the route passes through the Pium region, known for fruit cultivation, then moves along a series of beaches — Elbow, Pirangi (where the World's Largest Cashew Tree stands as an optional stop), Buzios, and Tabatinga, where a lookout point offers a chance to spot dolphins and photograph the coastline.
At Camurupim Beach, Pedra Oca — a cave formed in the middle of the reefs — becomes accessible only at low tide, making timing part of the day's rhythm. A swim in Arituba lagoon follows, its clear water a break in the drive. The route then crosses Barreta Beach and reaches Malembá, a six-kilometer stretch of empty sand that leads to where the Guarairas lagoon meets the sea (a ferry crossing here is not included in the tour price). The final stretch takes you through Tibau do Sul, Cacimbinhas, and Madeiro — known as Dolphins Bay and ranked among Brazil's ten most beautiful beaches — before ending at the cliffs of Praia do Amor near the charming village of Pipa.
A Portuguese-speaking guide leads the route throughout the day. The 4x4 handles the terrain and the stops; you choose which optional attractions to visit and how long to linger at each beach or lagoon.
